So, Corus ended today with one of the tournament favorites, Magnus Carlsen, finishing first place in group A, after drawing against GM Caruana. It was a great race to the finish from day one. Everybody was pulling for a different GM and the deeper we got into the tourney we saw some of the favorites stay short despite their best efforts. I personally enjoyed seeing the day by day on the official website and was even fortunate enough to be able to catch a few of the live game transmitions. All in all it was a great tournament with very competitive matches and a couple of upsets and surprises.

Corus Chess had a great website with up-to-the-minute moves on all boards, making it a joy to follow the tournament. Additionally, chess.com/tv offered live analysis of the top games. Magnus Carlsen is a juggernaut who is making a habit of winning elite tournaments, despite the presence of greats such as Anand, Kramnik and Shirov.

Anish Giri triumphed in the 'B' group and is looking for all the world like the next Carlsen. Li Chao handily took honors in the 'C' group amid furious battles and few draws.

We are very lucky to be able to follow tournament action even better than if we were present at the tournament site! Life is good.
