This seems like an opening that is played a LOT. Which kind of reminds me of 1) Nf3 and 2) e3 in Atomic. That opening gets a lot of hate among experienced Atomic players. Does the opening in question get similar hate from experienced zh players? Is it considered "too favorable" for White? Is any opening considered "too favorable" for White, and so 'not cool' to play?
It’s not a won opening for white at all, and doesn’t have any hate AFAIK. It’s definitely played a lot, and I enjoy playing against it as black. A huge amount of different lines stem from it as well.
Thanks, @Peril ! I had a feeling that, b/c zh is so incredibly complicated, w/ the piece drops and all, that there aren't openings (as in Atomic) which are 'super-overanalyzed' and 'super well-known'. It's good to have confirmation of that.
