How bout' daily four player? Once more members start playing 4 player can we try this?

Riptidejr

That would be great, I could actually analyze my moves XD

dallin

Daily would require a completely different application. It is unlikely that this will happen unless 4 player chess were to explode.

What do you mean by explode, @ignoble?

tmikolajczak

daily team matches in  4 player chess would be fun...

MGleason

Daily team matches would tend to be dominated by the higher-rated player on each team giving advice to the weaker player, essentially making it a 1v1 variant.  Sure, a lower-rated player wouldn't have to follow the advice of the stronger player, and a stronger player wouldn't have to give advice to his weaker partner, but those who did so would definitely do better.

Daily non-team games would work, though.  However, the games would potentially drag on for months or longer.

If membership gravitated more towards playing 4-chess.

It's an excellent variation but when we think of OTB tournaments and games, Bughouse never blew up, 4-player chessboards have been on the market for years and sales never blew up either.  It's an excellent online variation but let the Bughouse online variation here serve as a windstock in terms of interest.  If Bughouse doesn't ride high in interest given the OTB options it has long had (at least here in the USA) I doubt 4-PC will muster enough strength to surpass any lofty expectations in interest.

Just send out a message to all chess.com players. Boom.
