If you think why other moves were not played in any puzzle situation, you can go to analysis. Its free for everyone. Here you can go to analysis by pressing three lines in left corner and then press qnalysis button and can do the moves you think.

Ra6 if black take then Pb7 checkmate, if didn't take then black has no other option except to move bishop, in that case Ra7 checkmate
Would it be a breach of any rule if instead of Bb8, PB7 takes Ra6, and Pb6 comes forward to b7 (missing a7) checkmate?

that was why black didn't take Ra6. because that's a quicker checkmate. it's checkmate either way
