Blue to move.

There is only 1 correct move for blue (all others allow mate in 1). Find it.

Also I was thinking of doing a 4pc Daily puzzle / puzzles, which I would start compiling if anyone thinks that is a good idea.

JCrossover08

idk my first guess is bj13, and yeah daily puzzles seem like a good idea

GTSWPM150

@JCrossover08 at least I have 1 person for puzzles so far wink.png. Bj13 is incorrect.

roadrunner18

no move saves the game. this is forced mate in 1 after yellows move no matter what blue does

roadrunner18

because for yellow rg6 and nk12 are both forced mate in 1, and blue cant stop both

GTSWPM150

@roadrunner18 blue can stop both with this move happy.png

GTSWPM150

So this is will not be mate in 1 for R-Y

GTSWPM150

The key idea is to prolong the game (not win), just don't get mated this move.

EDIT: So when I say "save the game" I mean don't get checkmated this move wink.png

roadrunner18

there is no move to even delay it lol

GTSWPM150

@roadrunner18, there is exactly 1 move to delay it.

roadrunner18

the only move that stops nk12# is bj13, but if you do that then yellow does rg6#.

the only move that stops rg6# is be8, but if you do that then yellow does nk12#.

GTSWPM150

@roadrunner18 both of the statements are incorrect as you said "only move".

roadrunner18

they ARE the only move, unless your also counting bg10, which a) still allows nk12 and b) allows rxg10 which is also forced mate in 1

GTSWPM150

road there is 1 move you have not considered KEY WORD delay mate in 1.

EDIT: You are going to think the solution is so dumb, but it does delay mate.

roadrunner18

actually we are both wrong.

no matter what blue plays there is no mate in 1 because green has qd5 to check, and if yellow did rg8 to stop that check then green just takes the bishop, checkmate isnt threatened.

you are still more wrong because after qd5 there is no followup. its just mate in a couple

GTSWPM150

@roadrunner18 LOL okay this is true it does delay but does not do the job needed. If Qd5+ is considered then you can delay way farther. So we will exclude Qd5+ as it isn't sensible, what is the sensible way to delay and keep the game going.

roadrunner18

alright if we are gonna assume that qd5 doesnt exist then i am right and you are wrong

TheUltraTrap

Is this teams or FFA?

BoxJellyfishChess

I believe you are looking for Bi12? Seems to delay it

GTSWPM150

Haha yes BoxJellyfishChess Bi12 is the move. In fact (I was blue this game, and yellow got checkmated 2 moves later - yellow blundered and played Rg9 I think you can see the rest.
