'Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. '

I think that it is one of these verses that a Christian should act like this. One part is Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. and I strive to not show/brag about myself but to but to be humble. It is GOD FIRST then others then me. I also want to put others serve them whether that is doing something simple like holding the door or like something more serious like helping with a project. (I am going a little off topic plz forgive me). I also do want to Christ through me which is number 1!

matthew 5:6 this one means alot to me . i gained the insight from being a parent. i remember when my son was little. there was so much that i wanted to tell him. so much that i wanted to teach him. yet he could only absorb a little at a time. and even that which he was able to understand was just a part of a bigger picture and lesson. but that was ok. i would have as much patience as it took and would take any progress i could get, because it gave me something more to work with. i watched him , i waited for opportunities to present themselves. and i would use anything i could to deepen his understanding of the things i thought were so important for him to understand. and i realized by how badly i wanted to communicate with my son. that this was exactly my situation in reverse with God. so much He wanted to show and teach me. but He was limited by my abilities to understand, limited also by my lack of attention or interest at times (so shameful of me). but one thing i learned thru my desire for my son, was that, my son wasnt always interested in what i wanted to tell or teach. but he was always interested in the answers to the questions he was asking. thats when i had his attention. He listened intently in those areas. absorbed what was useful to him in his eyes. those ideas or instructions matured him. those moments were the opportunities i could really utilize. those were the moments that told me where he was at. i needed that info. it gave me tools to work with thru his interests.

so ask God your questions. share with Him your desires. search for His answers and instructions thru prayer, thru His words (the bible), His designs (creation), and thru your own personal relationships. the good things you want in relationships is what He wants with you . let Him steer your actions and attitudes. the things you strongly dislike in others dealings with you. ask yourself, are you that way with Him. (so far in my life it has always been the case. i havent yet ever found that not to be true in some way or another.) that has had a very big impact in my life. and changed the way i look at things in a very dramatic way. and God has always blessed those changes in me as i realized my faults. i have many more changes to make. but i appreciate so much when God shows me my mistakes in this way.

God desires so intently for us to have those questions, to seek (hunger and thirst) for His council . He is always watching and waiting for those moments that He can use to move us along in wisdom and maturity. it doesnt matter how old we are. we are children in understanding all God wants to show us. All He needs is our hunger and thirst for His righteousness and His truths. He is always waiting and watching to fill our cups with as much as we can handle. thats why He does all that He does. We are the prize He is after. He is raising us up into something that will bring Him joy. like a father enjoys every accomplishment of his child.

His only obstacle is us.

(think of moses leading God's saved and free people to the promised land) why did it take 40 years to make a journey that was less than 2 weeks away. why did nearly all of them fail to make it to the physical promised land. Be receptive to God's word and instruction. seek His counsel always. like your life depends on it. because it does.

does God ever give up on us. I dont think so. is God able to finally get thru to us despite ourselves. i think He absolutely is able. but clearly there is an easy way or there is the hard way. and that is up to us. so why wander thru hardship for 40 years when you could be enjoying God's gifts and blessings in just a short time. the simple answer. we dont truly understand what our actions, attitudes, and decisions are costing us. or we are just not paying attention at all to our real situation (blind) thats why we should listen to God when He commands us to be obedient. it is for our benefit. He knows the short path to His riches and blessings. we can hang on to the hard path out of ignorance. or we can Trust in God to lead us to the place we are going. its not really even a choice is it?

Hunger and Thirst for His righteousness. listen for His answers watch for new discoveries. about Him or about yourself. every truth you discover will change you. and the decisions you are going to make. You could be one of His favorite cups to fill. what a priviledge we have being His children.

please feel free to discuss or criticize any part of this comment. i dont consider my self to be good with words and as you can see my grammar is atrocious. i just wanted to share some of the benefits i have found in this verse and my only intention is to seek a deeper understanding of all things biblical. maxx

matthew 5;5 the meek, i think this one is saying is saying blessed is the person who realizes they dont have the answers. but they know who does. and they listen to Him.

One famous and important verse that I am only including because if you don't know it, you definitely should. it is the most famous in the entire bible (I will try saying it from memory only to practice my verse recollection)

Some thoughts about this.

1. The sadness or angryness are not bad per se. These depend on the context and the object of our anger or sadness. Anger is the action of disagreement with a certain situation. For example, anger is good when injustice occurs to another person. If we didn't get angry, it wouldn't be virtuous. In the same way, there are sadnesses that are good (like the sadness of having sinned) or the sadness of losing a family member. Whenever we feel angry or sad, it is necessary to know what the object of our anger or sadness is.
