I have test played this variant with several people, and it has been greatly enjoyed.  I have not had much success with broad exposure. Let me know, if anyone is interested in creating an online version. https://www.chessvariants.com/rules/deception-chess

I really enjoy this variant. Would the imperative to capture the king mean that there is no stalemate? Would an uncloaked king be forced to move into check if that were the only legal move?
