Defective and worn-out variants

Among the NCV and WoF variants, I’ve come across several that are defective, and others that have essentially worn out through play.

The worst NCV variant is Counterturn because Black has a forced win thanks to the Stalemate=win rule. I’m not sure if that was the author’s intention, but it seems more like an oversight by the admins when they introduced the variant. With Stalemate=loss, however, it becomes quite playable.

Another fairly flawed variant is The Lake. The author apparently did not consider players who use Neo pieces, since Black’s Sergeants and Blue’s Ferzes are difficult to distinguish. Even worse, Black can barely stop White from rushing to the hill.

As for the WoF variants, there are a few in which one side has a decisive advantage in the initial position, while their overall complexity remains relatively low. Specifically, these include Trebuchet, 1.20, Rowchess, Checkers 2.0, and .

Yeah I've been thinking of asking CGAs to change Lake to this:

Ferzes and sergeants were distinguishable imo, but I still changed them to dabbabas

VishTheFish771

I mean I doubt they will do that, considering it's an NCV. Also reasoning will prob be required

I would change it to the 4PC scheme with hills on a4/a5 and h4/h5

Why did people downvote this? Also, War of Thrones is also a defective variant, since it's extremely easy to kingmake.
