I heard they did. Jesus was particularly good at making sacrifices.

There doesn't seem to be direct evidence that they played chess (like a chessboard found buried with one of the apostles).

I like the idea that they might have played though.

Direct evidence might be very difficult (if not impossible) to obtain due to the dearth of eyewitness testimony.

I think the apostles didn't know how to play chess. They abandoned their King. You never do that in chess. One knight, named Peter, even denied his own King when the latter was in check.

The King was checkmated but rose again from the mate.

Chessbase a few years back had a game between God and you-know-who. It was fully annotated.

I don't know who. Who? Haven't seen the game.
