The movies have a lot of differences from the books. But which of these changes were necessary, helpful, and harmful? Discuss!

Thorongil38

the age of Frodo was fine.  the whole Arwen thing was unnecessary.  the other minor differences didn't really matter

AlbAmchess

the whole “Arwen thing” I think was necessary but the way it was done I’m not sure

Hannah_Stanfield

I agree about Arwen

Also the whole thing about Aragorn not wanting to be king in the movie. He wanted to in the book

AlbAmchess

Yes that’s true

Hannah_Stanfield

He was planning to be king all along

AlbAmchess

What do you think about Bilbo’s appearance in the LOTR movies? The book says that the called him “well-preserved, but unchanged would have been nearer to the mark”

Hannah_Stanfield

Well, he was pretty young in the movie (for his age) you was different from the younger biblo because they had different actors do him

AlbAmchess

Biblo? 0_o

AlbAmchess

And I didn’t want to know why I just wanted to know if you thought it was a good change or not

Hannah_Stanfield

Bilbo* XD

I don't think it was a big deal, I guess they thought he had to age at least a little

AlbAmchess

It’s not exactly “a little”

Hannah_Stanfield

Well, he's still in really good health
