Dirty work

I remember the first time I tried to grow at home. I planted 1kg of seed potatoes and my yield was 1kg. Put me off trying again, really. 😂

My opinion is, refugees deserve to live here. They do important work on the roads, and are really very kind. Think of it this way. After Jesus was born, his family fled to Egypt for three years. When they got there, they were mostly loved and well taken care of. What if when they got there Egypt just said, "Nah, we don't like immigrants. They ruin our economy. Go back to where you came from." The New Testament would be a whole lot shorter.

Hello all and thanks for the invitation to this club. I am honored to be part of this club and I look forward to contributing. A little about myself as far as formal introductions go, my name is Erik Zambrano. Born in Buffalo, NY, grew up living most of my childhood life in Kent county DE, lived in Prince William county VA while I finished high school. Several years later, enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 24 and about five and a half years later at the age of 30, I enlisted in the US Marine Corps and now I am currently residing in Las Vegas, NV.

They are "illegal immigrants"? I think it should be termed as unlawful invaders. There is nothing inherently unlawful about non-citizen migrant workers being here for the purposes of working, as long as they have all of their proper documentations that shows that they have a legally valid work visa. Just because someone enters into this country to work and pay taxes and do everything they can to become a lawful citizen and even do so peacefully, does not mean that they are lawfully allowed to be here. Its the same thing as if someone tries to break into your private residence and then try to kick you out. We as Latter-day Saints are instructed to be compassionate and loving towards all, however the Lord even commands us nonetheless to not be push overs as Latter-day Saints either. If someone who was born here as a US citizen because of at least due to their mother being a lawful citizen at the time of her child's day of birth delivery, cannot just go to another foreign country like Russia, or Iran and act as though they are allowed to forcefully displace that nation's citizens around as though it is their personal property. The same is true for foreigners from other nations who actively seek to come to the USA for the benefits that are supposed to be for the children of the USA first. Keeping the borders closed where there are no "AUTHORIZED" ports of entry helps to keep not only the country stabilized, but it is meant more fully for the sake of keeping America's children of all ages safe from organized street gangs, drug lords and their cartels and the such from the destruction that is carried out by their chosen way of lifestyle. Probably the best form of righteous population control we have. Look at how Poland is conducting business. They shoot on sight if they see people of all stripes trying to unlawfully enter in any other way than how they have established their foreign policy, because one of their military fighters was shot and killed by an "illegal immigrant." If you do not protect your own private residence, then perhaps it might make sense just to let anyone in, just because people have become too good to do dirty jobs themselves. Is it not taught that we should always be humble before the Lord. How many here believe that Jesus is going to allow entrance into paradise, just because? Are we going to have to scrub dirty toilets in the afterlife? Or muck out horse stalls? In my opinion, if the prophets of old, were to see how we all live our lives, they would in my opinion be disappointed in all of us. How many of us here know that even the first prophet, Joseph Smith; Jr even established a militia style fighting force for the protection of the women and children as well as the whole community from those who opposed them and dealt them violence more than peace? Nothing else is going to matter to us if we allow just anyone to come in to the country without being vetted. All that will happen is that this nation is going to be lost to the religion of Islam and even though I might not know much about everything, one thing I or anyone really for that matter knows is that if that happens, Muslim Islamists are going to enjoy the challenge of trying to force us into either conversion to Islam or be put to death... and all because of our complacency and a serious lack of patriotism as Americans.

Have you ever watched the movie titled "Full Metal Jacket?" There is a difference between someone being a "refugee" and someone who is an "asylum seeker." Refugees seek to escape war. Asylum seekers are people who do not seek refuge, but are brought to refuge without asking. People who have been trapped under collapsed building after being struck. Example: 9/11. Refugees are people who leave their countries to seek refuge from other nations who are not involved in war activities. And since it is not possible for any of us to know the full intentions of others, that is why they have to be either vetted properly and lawfully or the potential consequence is a real life change that is not righteous but is only meant to make you and everyone else as well into a slave. I would like to recommend that you take the time to think to yourself, "what if I were the elected President of the United States of America? Do I want to open up the entire nation to everybody just so "illegal immigrants" can impose their will on the children of the nation that I have been sworn into by and even entrusted to by the people to protect? Do you not realize the consequences of that? I am not intending to be mean, but I served this nation and I learned a bit during my time and even learned a thing or two about the basics of terrorism/counter terrorism. A Muslim Islamist man would have no sense of moral issue with imposing his will on you or any other woman who is willing to show him the right amount of fear all the while instructing and even commanding you to never walk by yourself unless you have your husband with you. Just sharing the truth with you, so please I hope you take these words to heart and do so seriously when it comes to debating foreign policy. Never debate serious issues just by emotion alone. Emotional feeling does not trump logical reasoning and logical reasoning does not trump emotional feeling either. They need to be balanced together. Just because you feel a certain way does not mean that you know the whole story. Especially if only based on one more than the other. Do you want to see this nation be taken over by Russians, or by the Chinese, or the North Koreans? Or even dare I say it, extremist Islamic Muslims who have been chanting "DEATH TO AMERICA" for nearly fifty years or perhaps even longer than i have been alive? Besides, was or was not Jesus born in the humblest and "lowest" of human states? Was not His parents Joseph and Mary denied a room at the local inn? I know I wasn't born in an animal manger type of setting? All I am saying is do you think or believe Jesus is going to allow just anyone into Heaven just because? I wouldn't just let anyone break into my own private residence. Especially since I know that whoever unlawfully tries to enter into my home will more than likely suffer extreme injury or might wind up dead. Its not that I hate people or anything, but I remember that we all as Latter-day Saints are both commanded to love one another as well as to protect our countries, families and even our property if necessary. Are we or are we not supposed to be strong in the power of the Lord's spirit? Or are we commanded to be weak to the ways of the world? Just some food for thought, because if I know that I no longer cared, I wouldn't say anything.

Dear LDS Chess Friends,

Should US citizens take the job of immigrants, like hard-core farm work, to make things work out more brightly?

Adam was told to work the earth and it would be hard on him.

Yeah, but I'm sure Adam wasn't President of the United States. He didn't have to worry about South American gangs and Islamists chanting "DEATH TO AMERICA" either. Hahahaha

So you think America would be fine without bringing "illegal immigrants" to farm?

They aren't technically "illegal immigrants" if they have a work visa/green card. If they don't, then they are 'illegals"; right?

I have a very different take than those that I have read here. The free market will always win. If we do away with regulation and subsidize, do away with incentives and penalties, then the market will balance out. I believe that the Constitution is a divine document and that if we were to step closer to it we will find a balance that could last generations. That being said, the problem is not in the area of commercial production of food, rather the lack of home production of food. We, as a society, have forgotten how to produce in general. The abundance that could be grown at home, regardless of your circumstances, could make a significant difference to the national food supply. even if you live in an apartment food can easily be grown on your windowsill, balcony, in a closet, and there are community gardens in most communities that each individual could contribute to. I recommend investigation into Food Forest Abundance if you would like more information about what you can do at home to produce.

I believe that when it comes to food produce (and I admit, I am more knowledgeably ignorant about growing food), we could all strive to live in states where there is an amish population. One, you would be supporting small family run and operated businesses, and second you would be getting good quality and healthy food for a reasonable price. Third, and this is more like the icing on the cake if you will, but you get to also live close to some of the kindest and friendliest people of any human community/society.
