DISABLING THE CHAT

I am strongly in favour of the chat, half of the fun it's there
I totally agree with u

Agreed, if people find the chat distracting they can type stop-chat and instead of chat being disabled for everyone, any messages typed in the chat won’t appear on their screen. The chat is quite fun and quite interesting most of the time.

Never thought about that. You're a genius

The tempo of the game is too fast to allow participation in the chat. You can't come up with good moves in 15 seconds, in a board so huge, and simultaneously engage in politics like below:
- Blue is weak, lets attack him!
- I mean green, not blue.
- Yellow lets push our pawns, I won't take your queen.
- Green's queen is undefended, take it!
In these cases I stop the chat immediately. The following are acceptable though (at least for me).
- Wtf! Why are you targeting me?
- I lost half of my army in 2 moves!
- Leave me alone!

I agree.

As much as I like to chat, to try to influence a player, or to sometime vent my anger, I think that the way it is pretty much the fairest way. I completely understand those who want to close it, although I might have closed it once myself in the 100s of games I have played

What if there was limited chat? Like a list of chat phrases you can click to send.
Who would want that?

Yes, chat without keyboard, with just some canned messages. I think it is harmless, and better than no chat at all.
Who in the right mind wants to disable the chat. I mean, people who disagree for teaming up would probably do this so players can't communicate but what about everybody else. The chat is to be friendly and kind. There's no problem in teaming up and putting your plans in the chat. The other player/s can see your plans. Who thinks disabling the chat is the right thing to do? Please do tell me in the comments.
