Do you think that with perfect play, spell chess is a forced win for white?

Regular chess is believed to be a draw but spell chess is in my opinion much less balanced. Every time I play black against a strong opponent I feel like my position is so much worse after just a few moves. Would love to hear other thoughts on this happy.png

Hmm, It could be, but if black plays the right defense, it can be tough to break through as white. So no, i do not believe it is necessarily a forced win. However white does have an advantage in opening choice

I think we're not in a position to say yet. I've often found that on the White side of 1.e4 e5 my opponents are very solid with apparently little effort. But as Black, I don't like symmetrical positions, so I play 1...c6.

If it were the case that Spell Chess were winning for White, it would be quite easy to fix it. Just make it so neither can use the spells for a certain number of moves.

I feel like yes because you can stop all their attacks with counterfreeze and your attack can be unstoppable if your opponent makes a slight mistake
