Do you think the knight sacrifice would have been worth it?

this came up in my daily game. it's still going on but i've already made my move which was Bg3 so i'm not cheating. I was thinking of sacrificing the f3 knight so i could get a check on the king, force it to move, and maybe start an attack on the king to gain some material or something. wasn't clear to me if sacrifice would be worth it so i just played Bg3, which looks like a pretty safe move.

After Ke7 Bd6+ Kf6 e4!! I think white has a draw at worst.

Sacrificing seems sound.

if black takes the pawn on e4 then he pretty much loses right there, but I don't think white has much of an advantage if black trades bishops instead of taking e4 pawn

looks like knight sacrifice would probably work. now that i think of it, my opponent's only rated 712 in daily. i've already played a bunch of games against him and in one of my games i hung my queen and still won. i'm probably just being too cautious.

My bad, that's what happens when you move the pawn, you create a hole.

I think I'd have gone for the sacrifice, the damage done to black would be important.

might well leave white up a rook, and with black's king going for a long walk to a bad end.
