you know you can try to sing mercur venur earth mars it's all short names and all simoular in length then you can see the jupiter saturnus uranus neptunus look at the the name are long and has simoular endings if u can see the tact by the simoularity of the names then it's a piece of cake remembering

Planets aren't my thing so I only know the one for remembering the spectral classes of stars. Apparently it is now regarded as sexist.

My very easy memorising just says: undo no planets.
The stellar classification system letters do represent something, although it is not an acronym as was correctly said! When stellar spectra were first observed astrophysicists classified stars on the strength of their Balmer series lines from A (strongest) to Q (weakest). It was later discovered that some of the lines were not Balmer lines but were a result of other elements and compounds so the list was cut and re-ordered leaving us with OBAFGKMN.
