Does black have a move that keeps him in the game? (Atomic)

No, black has a too exposed king and white can easily attack with queen, leading to inevitable material loss. e6 can well delay the inevitable, but will not really help.

Easy. Bxf3 (Bf3, Nf4 caboom), and you're OK. Queen isn't danger. Bd7 Qc4/Qc7 with advantage.

If Queen will move just play Qe6

Bxf3 is followed by Qh5, which is a mate.

10...Bxf3 11. Qh5 Qe6+ 12. Be3 and now the white queen is eyeing both e8 and c5

For example if black tries to defend with g6, Qc5 forks c8 and e7.

What are you talking about?

After Qe6+

hermanstinkt

white has a bishop on c1.

Where is white dark-squared bishop? Qe6 was easily noticeable, yet Be3 should mitigate it.

Sorry. Then it's losing for black

Black plays. 10... Nh3. What's your move as white?

Can you give a diagram/game link?

The game

I linked it to the position in the OP.

10. bxf3 is mate in 4. 11. Qh5, Qe6+ 12. be3, g6 13. Qc5 and the game is lost.

I think the best move in this case is 10. e6 is best, because it delays any knight-related shenanigans. Eventually, after putting pressure on the e6 pawn in a few moves (through d5 and then dxe6+), the knight is free and the game is eventually lost.

So, in this case, I think black is lost regardless, but 10. e6 delays the end of the game about 15-20 moves.

It's surprising that all the people who commented on this except me has no profile picture lol

Qxc2 indeed loses immediately to Rc1. What does your computer say is black's best move? e6? Nh6?

hermanstinkt

Yeah I saw e6 d5 e5 after that it looks like a slow death for black.
