I wouldn't sayΒ better, but I think players that reach a very high rating when they're younger have more of a chance of reaching a higher rating if they continue playing.Β But so would the older player that does the same.Β So I guess, age doesn't matter, just the experience and determination to keep playing if it's something you're focused on.
So does a younger player with a high rating mean that he is a much better chess player than someone older than him with the same rating? In general, with a sufficient number of games in a player's rating history, a higher rating means a better player, regardless of age
