"If you play lots of Blitz and analyse none of them, it is probably unhealthy for you. "
so maybe that's why I've been tilting for a year...
Does Playing Blitz Actually Help You? 🤔
no I kinda knew that already lol... rapid on lichess is my main tool now
yes blitz can hurt you but it can also help you learn specific things really fast... not useful if you're still hanging pieces every game though.
Blitz is fun but real hardwork lies on analyzing every single of them. ''Fun'' doesn't teach ''brain'' much. That is where I need to get out of my comfort zone.
The funny thing is that we all know it but still postpone or delay it till we hit the bottom.
I was just solving puzzles for a few weeks and never played blitz for fun.( only weekly multi-club arenas of my club).The quality of my play was visible and comforting ''my resistance to not play''.

Before you sit and start playing, you need to decide are you playing for fun or seriously?

The answer is simple, it depends. If you play lots of Blitz and analyse none of them, it is probably unhealthy for you. Let me explain;
The reason is you can either learn from your mistakes or continue doing mistakes. Analysing and fixing your mistakes will help you improve. On the other hand if you continue doing mistakes without realizing, you will never improve! Here is an example:
Beginner friend of mine constantly kept losing his queen in the opening. When he started playing chess, I taught him some basic openings and then he started playing. After 1 month of playing chess, he said "I am always losing, I will quit chess!". So, I said "Wait, let me check your games" And then I saw him making the same mistake over and over again. That's the reason you should analyse your games!
