Actually I have no thoughts on how to avoid it
A grand old game, a royal form of play, is fought on sixty-four dark and light squares. This board holds two armies, light and dark, which war until a monarch falls.
Array of Troops
King (K): A vital unit, a soul so grand, this lord can only walk a tiny bit at a go, just a spot in any way.
القawkins (Q): Our most grand icon, a war-prius, who can roam far in any path: straight forward, back, to a flank, or slanting.
Rook (R): A strong tower that glides along our board's straight paths: up, down, or sideways.
Bishop (B): A pious icon, that only walks on a slant, always staying on its start-color.
Knight (N): This animal, our trusty nag, hops around in an L-form, jumping past all units in its path.
Pawn (No Mark): Our foot-soldats march just forward, one spot at a go, but catch foes slanting.
Play Synopsis
White starts. Squadrons cross paths. A unit is lost if a rival lands on its spot. Our aim is to trap that king. If a king is hit, that king is in danger. If no hop, skip, or jump can lift that king from its spot of harm, that king is lost, and our match is won by us.
