I admit I am not patient enough to play long end-games. Consequently, I accept a draw even when my position is/seems to be slightly better. I would like to share three end-games and I would like to hear what you think - were those games really drawn or did my opponents (first two games) or myself (the third one) miss something? I have no chess engine at the moment but all the games were analyzed and the analyses say that my opponents (first two games) and myself (the last game) were winning.
Crazy end-game
If you want to check the game in question the link is here. I started to believe the game was dead draw on move 53 where my diagram begins.
My strategy is obvious. I wanted to capture Black`s h-pawn and I was ready to give up my remaining pawns. My King had to stay on f2, my Rook was free to move in row 1 (e1 and g1 were my safe squares), and my Bishop had to control c1. As you can see my opponent didn`t believe it was a draw for quite a long time.
Too many useless pawns
If you want to check the game in question the link is here. I started to believe the game was dead draw on move 49 where my diagram begins.
I knew I was going to lose my a-pawn. As long as White`c King would be close to my pawns I would keep moving my King (g2-f3). When the White`s King comes closer to mine I would keep moving my bishop (a4-d7).
I didn`t see something - but what?
I am almost sure I should have won the game. The only problem is I can`t see what I should have played to do so
