My suggestion is that you can only resign in Teams if both teammates agree. If one player wants to abort, that would be a separate option and would only negatively impact the aborting member's rating, and not his teammate.
Early Resignations

I agree with this but, aborting past move 1 would not make sense. Imagine you are in a losing position and only one person loses rating. This would lead to a lot of people playing with others who will be the one who loses rating. The option for both agreeing to resign is another good answer though
Then people would just timeout. If people want to leave the game because their teammate is unresponsive, or they weren't actually ready to start a game, or whatever, they will simply do so. The only solution would be something that only punishes the resigning/disconnecting/timing out player, while balancing genuine timeouts and disconnections. There could also be a problem of one teammate refusing to agree to a resignation to bore the other player into solo resigning, and thus losing the majority of the points, but I think that's a much smaller issue.

I agree. Why must everyone agree for draws, but not resignations?

Why not make it impossible to resign in the first 5 or whatever number moves of a teams game?( aborting should still be possible) This has happened to me a few times in a not so large pool of games I’ve played. Or at least do something to stop this from happening with the same people! some of them have over 10,000 games. i find it hard to believe this would be their first time doing this
If you say that people would still resign after 5 moves its still way more inconvenient for them to wait 5 moves
If any other ideas what to do about this post below. This suggestion is only for teams games where resigning effects both players ratings and records.

I agree, it happens many times
All these ideas are great but they will never be added because as the developer said they like fixing bugs but not adding. a new feature has not been added in years for the variant server.

Shouldn’t stop people from suggestion ideas though. maybe some are important enough they need to be added

If my teammate does not agree to resign, I will just close the tab.
You cannot consider the amount of time left either; I can make a ~super slow~ move and then having 1s left timeout. You can never know it was intentionally.
And punishing only one player of the team does not make sense and opens up a lot of opportunities for abuse of this feature.
If your teammate doesn't agree to resign, then if you care about your rating you could just play out the game, like your teammate wants. Nothing is forcing you to close the tab and abandon the game.

Completely true, but the people who resign early for no apparent reason clearly don't care about their ratings, so they could and would just abandon the game if resigning was taken away from them.

so because of this just make it easier for them to tank games? Thats like saying we can’t stop hackers completely so don’t even use passwords. I agree about the last sentence though.
The fact that there are so many side effects of this idea will make it not created. if somebody really want this idea to be made he will think of a way to stop all side effects and even side effects of stopping side effects. (Like having to go somewhere) <- this is something nobody is thinking about.
