Is anyone a good writer here? I have some writing that I need help editing on.

ClumsyMinute

I am. What do you need help with?

Arctikfox

I have some adventure writing that maybe needs some rephrasing or maybe smooth it out a bit - any thing that makes it better

I can do this - my English teacher said I should publish my work so apparently I'm decent at writing.

my writing :

“Yeah, her parents-“ Katlyn  paused and glanced at me. The pained silence roamed between us. I rubbed my nape awkwardly.  The topic had always been tough to talk about. I mean, I think it would be hard for most people to casually state that they were living with their Aunt because their mother had died and their father had abandoned them. Or maybe not. I am not too sure. I’m not ‘most people,’ anyway.
“Hey orphan!” a kid hollered at me as I walked down the hallway of my school. “Hi,” I mumble quietly, I hated when people called me names, especially because of my parents. I could not do anything to help them, what could I do to stop my dad from abandoning my sister and I? What could I do to stop my mom from dying from cancer? The only solution that could come to my head was ‘nothing.’ “Katyln told everyone that your parents abandoned you!” the kid called Monica said to me. “Well actually - “ I stuttered. “What? They abandoned you because you were too ugly?” she comments. “Don’t listen to her Neptune... You know – Monica is just jealous of you...” my older sister Lilac steps in. “But who would be jealous of a person who’s parents either died or abandoned them?” I asked Lilac.

“Students, I would like you to write a quick story about your past! It would be an absolute pleasure for me to read all your interesting stories!” Mrs. Kelsey, my writing teacher said enthusiastically.
I write:
My mom had left me at a early age 30, for all that I know, she died of cancer, and soon after that, my dad abandoned my sister and I, saying he was “having some mental obstacles”. I now live with my older sister and aunt. Our aunt despises us, everyday telling us that we weren’t her responsibility and that she would kick us out if she could. It’s not a surprise, who would want abandoned kids in their house? Nobody probably.
“Times up! Raise your pencils” my overly-optimistic writing teacher yells, Good, I couldn’t think of anything to write, I don’t want to write more either I mumble to myself. I turn in my paper, and go back to my desk to finish my other assignments. I glance at my teacher, who glared at me – in a soft way.  She came to my desk and whispered “Neptune, come to my desk okay? Let us talk about your writing for a bit.” “Sure, I’ll be there,” I reply. I walk toward her chestnut colored desk, and waited for her to invite me over. Mrs.Kelsey probably would have told me my grammar mistakes, but instead - “Hi sweetheart! Honey, take a seat over there and I wanted to talk to you something personal about your writing.” Something personal?  “Okay...” I respond, shrugging my shoulders. “Look honey, take a look at this poem alright?”
I read the yellow paper with my teachers large, neat handwriting engraved.
Me: June Kelsey
I am June Kelsey
A funny name you might think.
I was born in June
Which flowers bloom!
My mom is awesome
She cooks delicious food
My dad is smart
And helps me with my homework!
I am thankful for everything that I have

“We want to write something merry okay darlin? There is always a light shining on you, even you are in hard times, I need you to redo this assignment alright?” Mrs. Kelsey patted my shoulder and sipped her latte quietly. I walked back to my desk, Ugh, something merry, Lilac is merry... Only happy thing in my life.
I came home to Aunt Janice screaming and yelling on the phone, “What the hell have you been doing? Get over here this instant you rat!” Lilac whispered to me, “She is probably talking to her son, Bert. Bert always causes trouble.” I replied quietly, “What did Bert do wrong?” “I don’t know, maybe he - “ “You girls come over here” Aunt Janice dragged us one by each arm. “Lilac and Neptune, my dearest son has done some awesome work and I am going out today to celebrate, you girls be obedient and don’t break anything, you girls know what will happen if you don’t.” Janice then shoved us in this small attic, with 2 small beds and a candle. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable, and it definitely wasn’t the cleanest attic ever, the wooden floorboards creaked as you stepped on them and the ceiling was filled with cobwebs.
