Endpoint - members

Sort:

One needed endpoint, which is not yet in the roadmap, would be for me members with some filtering and sorting criteria.

In order to support functionality to find new club players suitable for the team, I would like to search through all members and filter those in specific country or location and sort them based on recent activity timestamp.

Do you think that you can have a similar endpoint in the future? It would be a replacement to screenscrap ie this page:

https://www.chess.com/members/search?country=40

Thanks.

Interesting. Can you tell me use-case? Just curious!

Perhaps a club based on particular opening or set of openings would like to search for all players who have had more than X daily games in the past Y months with a position defined in a (set of) FEN appearing in their recent games Z times with fewer than % timeout over the last Y months.  This would identify all active daily game players potentially interested in an opening or set of openings.

Or a regional club could search for players with more than X daily games in the last Y months with fewer than Z timeouts in the last Y months with daily ratings greater than ABCD, who have indicated they live in City or State.

Something like this. To be more specific - as of now, I am running regularly through recently active players (in v2). If I find anybody w the th location in (Prague, Praha ... or similar versions) I check if I know this player already or not - if not, that it is stored into candidates list and time to time I send manually club invite to all such players. Similar item can be done for other country, regional, city teams.

A truly dynamic search ability would not be part of the API that we are focused on now, but we may open a gateway to our internal search mechanisms in the future. That would not be as robust as @mattchess described — his use cases sound really interesting!

We may be able to create member lists per country prior to that, however. I will put it down to investigate.

Member list per country eill be great. Just it would be helpfull to have some sorting and paging as to retrieve all 50000 users from US will be quite ineffective
