I recently got to 2200 rapid. I would show that game, but it's not very interesting. So I'll show the second to last game.

The French has always been a frustrating position to play against for me, but I like this variation as it offers a lot of cool ideas!

I always felt like the french basically forces you to learn pawn play and stuff, which is really important because you can only get so far with using pieces. Pawns are usually associated with plans in the middlegame as well, so that way you aren't aimless in the middlegame either.

On move 2, if white played exd5 I’m assuming you don’t capture with the queen?

Very nice and instructive game! You never gave your opponent much of a chance to get back into the game!

you do (I assume on move 3)? I mean it's not a pawn sac. It's in the variations

But after Qxd5, Nc3, Qe8 black is just lagging behind on development and has nothing to show for it. Instead, you could play it like an Icelandic Gambit with 3. exd5, Nf6.

then I lose the knight on c6

How does my queen go to e8?

I literally posted the variation in the game

Oh, that does hang the knight. I was blindfolded so I didn’t see that.
