That's why I love 4 player, so fast ,so exciting !!!
FANTASTIC GAMES
Your play was excellent! Red however was clever enough to get several double checks and even a triple check to be enough up on the scoreboard to resign. For those looking at this game, definitely look at how blue comes back but also notice how red takes advantage of the scoreboard.
@VictoriaLady, I like how you recovered after blundering a bishop and being attacked by red and yellow. You threatened red many times and finally managed to weaken him.
Your 42nd move, however, was risky. Yellow captured red queen, but you cannot rely on this. Yellow allowed green to capture his bishop and check (!) him. So, I'd better save the bishop, but in this case you'd lose your only queen. Green is "the worst enemy" of yellow, because he is at left from yellow. So, yellow should avoid checks from green at all costs. For some reason that 1400+ player decided to give that bishop to green, allow him to check and ... you (blue) captured his pawn and knight (moves 43 and 44). So, you proved that yellow made a mistake by taking red queen.
I shows the importance of king protection. Your (blue) king was surrounded by a knight and pawns. And a bishop also returned to the king time by time. Other 3 kings were open, especially yellow. So, they checked one another while you could do whatever you want. Castling is one of the ways to hide your king, but not the only way.
whohoa there, I hear a poker reference!
True, never fold. But if a player disconnects, it may be ok to bluff ![]()
The first game of this thread is a fantastic exmaple of Tip #4 in @johnkuhles thread called "10 Basic Strategic Tips" quoted below:
Tip 04. Even if you are in the weakest position with no more chance of having any meaningful effect ... can also mean they (all other 3) temporary ignore you because they know others are more likely to be dangerous to them ... so they fight each-other faster than attacking you. Some (!) are so insecure that they attack weaker players just because they can ... but forgetting the other 2 crushing him or her in the process ... so those who attack only the weaker ones WILL get attacked by 2 stronger ones ... like Karma
I KNOW that it is possible that the weakest can become the strongest at the end due to heavy fighting between the strongest players ... you only need 1 promotion of a pawn all of sudden the tide is turning in your favor ... about 1 out of 5 (of being in weakest position) changed in to being 2nd or even winning the game! So 20% chance you still can win the game even if you are the weakest depending how heavy the fight is between stronger players.
