Both VC and VC 2 have 10-20 players (active), quite a small playerbase as they go. 
What you are referring to when you mention 12,000 players is the "Dynamic" game type. It's basically one of the ways we categorise our variants on the server (tactical, dynamic, positional, strategic etc)

That might be true but he's the best chess player I ever faced. Another great player snared in the overly suspicious chess dot com net.

Well he was quite abusive on the chess.com discord server so i guess it was a fair sanction

I don't know anything about that but I doubt he did little more than reply to stuff others started and discord bans are one thing but chess dot com operates completely separate from other online environments.

My favorites are 3Check and King of the Hill because you can easily lose important pieces to win (3Check). Also you don't need to worry about position and it's okay to play the Bongcloud Opening (King of the Hill)!
