Hi,

when does it come out? I ask because on the chess.com homepage you have a box saying "Mobile Chess, play mobile or iphone", but I can't find the app in the store yet...

Live chess definitely! Even with reception problems would be a great as a pioneering step in the future of our beloved sport. We could be the first!

As a previous user posted, whomever programs a PGN purser will create an application that fills a huge void for serious players on the Iphone. The latest Iphone operating system allows cut and paste so ideally the user could cut a PGN game he emailed to himself and paste it into a chess program. Or chess.com could follow Chess Geniuses lead and create URLs that allow the user to upload PGN databases into the Iphone.

Best of luck.

Ok, two things I would suggest. I don't think I see either of them here. For the first one, if there is going to be an option for offline play, there should also be a way to easily export the PGN file (I would assume the online games will be easy enough to access as they are stored).

Secondly, inclusion of chess problems? Us poor souls with only the iPod touch can't always have internet access, but we have to pass the time somehow!

Can anyone tell me if the new iPhone app will definitely include the "analysis board" feature of chess.com?  It would be a deal breaker for me if it wasn't there.

two things. . .

You could do a chess.com mobile site for starters-like when you go to chess.com on an i phone, you go to a better ui.

Also, could I have a date on this? "soon" is very vague.

It have been said to betatesters that probably on friday the new iphone app will be sent to apple in order to be acepted into itunes store.

I have been testing the beta version and when all the bug are solved this is a better choice than a special ui for iphone browser. It´s my opinion

:)

How will we know when it is out.  Can I just search itunes store for chess.com?  Or will it have a different name?  There are a million chess apps so may be hard to find.

Thanks.

you will know :)

i think we're 3 weeks away from actually having it in the itunes store
