First 10 letters in Russian alphabet

There are 33 letters in the Russian alphabet: 10 vowels, 21 consonants and 2 letters that do not indicate sounds - ъ and ь. I will explain about them later, not today.

A - reads just like English A. Example: Арбуз [arbuz] (watermelon)

Б - Reads like English B. Example: Барабан [baraban] (drums)

B - reads like English V. Example: Вор [vor] (thief)

Г - reads like English G. BUUUUUUUUUT! It's worth talking about

The letter Г is read like the letter G in words: Gas, Garden, Game. But it is never read ZH or DZ. For example Giant.

There is a word Сегодня [seVodnya]. Note! The letter Г is written and read like the letter B [v]. It's worth remembering!

Д - reads like English D. Example: Дом [dom] (house)

Е - reads like English A or E. Example: ПривEт [privEt] (hello).
