As you all know, we are committed to helping everyone improve their chess skills. In order to do this studying chess is a must! No one will improve if they don't study and practice. Practicing is what most of us come here to do. We play so many games of chess with people all over the world. Win or lose, we all make mistakes. Everyone can learn from their mistakes. As they say "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!"

In order to learn from your mistakes you hae to go over YOUR own games. This is the most valuable type of studying you can do. For this reason we are offering to analyze your games right here. We will give you detailed feedback on what you did well and what you did wrong. We will provide suggestions and go over your games so that you learn from them.

Recommendations:
  • We recommend that the games you submit to us are serious games. This includes OTB, Standard Live Chess, and Turn-Based. We don't want to go over a fast blitz game where you hardly thought.
  • Post the game in the comments below as either a diagram or as a link to your archived game.
  • To help us you can feel free to annotate your games with your thoughts... This will help the analyzers know what you were thinking when you made a certain move. This step is optional but would be very useful.
After Your Game Is Done:
  • We will post your game and send you a private message to notify you. If you want your game to not be posted for others to see please tell us and we will send it to you only.
  • Games will just be a diagram of the chess game with added annotations and suggestions and variations included.
I hope this helps and you find this useful!

Thank you for the game! I liked going through it, found it very interesting, especially that beautiful ending! That mate that was there was fantastic (yours was good too though). Here are my suggestions/ tips from what I saw:

  • Taking the c pawn after your opponet takes back should happen right away, especially if they can play b4 and have the pawn protected by the other c pawn. It leaves white rather nice.
  • Watch out when answering an attack with an attack. Usually these can be dangerous. The first one in the game was all good, you saw it perfectly, the second one was better for your opponet. I like how you did not take him though right away. That is a good idea because taking can give a weakness. You have to be careful because sometimes they can take a random piece after you attack them (say a pawn) and then when you take them and they take you they end up with an extra pawn. Follow that? So watch out in the future.

Other than those 2 things I thought you played very well and took advantage of the blunders and your powerful bishops and rook! Good game!

Thanks a lot for the analysis Matthew! I hope it wasn't too much trouble :)

I sure learned some things from it, and it's encouraging to know the good moves I did too.

Again thanks for your time :D

No problem! It was no trouble at all. I like analyzing games.

I had mate in 3 but lost on time.

Yes! Sorry for such a late reply. It has been a very busy week for me and another one is coming up. I will look at your game tomorrow though when I have some free time. Again, sorry to make you wait.

Sorry that it took so long to get finished, it has been a really busy week for me but now things should start calming down again.

Here is what I have to say:
  • Look for holes in the position and try to get a knight occupying them but at the same time don't your opponet do the same.
  • When you are down look for attacks (like you did) but if you don't see a CLEAR win go for the repition draw (usually you have to make forcing moves)
  • Watch out for giving up weaknesses to your opponet-- you were playing a good game with full control of the light squares but then you gave it up by playing b6 then c4.
  • Play very carefully when you are up material. You have to make sure that you keep your advantage. When you are winning is the time to take your time so you dont blunder away the win.

Good game and thanks for letting me review it! I hope it helps!
