Game of Points only apply to Two Players not four player... why??

this. 4p has the option 'play for mate', which is still based on points, but only checkmates give points. 1st checkmate gives 48 points, 2nd 32, 3rd 16. no points for capturing pieces etc.
all 2p games are technically play-for-mate games, they work based on points, its just that the points are hidden.
