Maybe the "eggshell" durability should be a bit more lenient

Right, similar to the N-Check gamerule, the durability values could be set to a custom number. In my examples, I put 8, but it could be set to any value.

EGGSHELL CRACKS ALLOWED:

points:

1 point(excluding one-point queen) = 12 cracks allowed

3 points = 12 cracks allowed

5 points = 10 cracks allowed

7 points = 8 cracks allowed

9 points(including one-point queen) = 10 cracks allowed

12 points(amazon) = 12 cracks allowed

HEALING:

points:

1 point(excluding one-point queen) = no heal(since they hardly ever move)

3 points = heals after 7 moves staying in one spot

5 points = heals after 7 moves staying in one spot

7 points = heals after 6 moves staying in one spot

9 points(including one-point queen) = heals after 5 moves staying in one spot

12 points = heals after 4 moves staying in one spot

PROMOTION:

when pawns promote they reset their cracks to the amount of cracks of the piece they promoted to.

So, does that mean that the Soldier, the Berolina, the Stone General, and the Sergeant get the same amount of durability as regular pawns? If they do, and the other fairy pieces could have this too, then it would make sense. Oh, and could you make this some kind of setting that you could turn on or off? If so, +1.

I like the idea, but gaining moves is also preferable as well, for example, taking a piece makes the other person more moves, and promoting gives everyone another move, etc.

Otherwise, this is great!

but then if kings get eggshelled the wont want to move

I think in order for this to make sense, the king (or royal piece) would need to be excluded from the eggshell rule.

very interesting idea. do pawns keep there eggshell number after promotion? perhaps an addition could be a restorative score, like a reverse eggshell, once it has 'cracked', theres a countdown e.g. from -5 -4 -3 -2 -1 and when zero is achieved the piece revives. the right amount of points until crack needs to be learned by doing i guess. otherwise you get just suicided before anyone is mated.wink.png. send me a head's up when we can get going. happy.png
