This forum topic is a more concrete version of the 'notes' on the group homepage. We will discuss the next openings, ideas to make the group run more smoothly, and other group related topics here. THIS IS NOT THE FORUM TO DISCUSS THE CURRENT OPENING. Each opening will have its own forum topic, and that is where you should post. Also, please be relevant. If what you have to say is not about group maintenance, please post in the notes.

Ok, we're nearing the point where we should start a new opening right now. Once the team match is 1/2 done, we'll start it. Any ideas for a new opening? I would like a queen-pawn opening, since we have only studied king-pawn openings so far. That could be a problem, since as white we only play 1. e4, and as black we have not studied how to refute 1. d4.

Najdorf Sicilian Defense and Attack

And by voting do we just state the opening? If so, I'm all for the Slav Defence!

Unless someone has a viable reason to not study the Slav Defense, I'm going to set it as the next opening.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nimzo-Indian_Defence, very interesting opening if you ask me, whites queenside can get clogged up and have interesting pawn structures. However I'd still like to explore the Slav anyway I think it's a very good opening to explore.

If that's not possible, then Slav.

We're still in the process of playing out our Slav games y2721... but I would enjoy experimenting with the Najdorf also, extremely popular and fun to play.

Indian Game: West Indian Defense I like this one, personally.

So far, we have done no knight openings. Would anyone like to do one of them?
