bro your 1000's why are rating expectations set so high here, are you not satisfied with 1800, 1600, 1400?
oop i can't challenge you apparently you only accept from people lower than 1000 xD
Setting changed, lol somehow I forgot that, anyways feel free to challenge again.

If I would have meant daily rating I would have said "People who have a daily rating of 2200+"
I just mean that anyone who has accomplished 2200+ is allowed to challenge me for this challenge.

I have the thinking level of a 1800 (currently solving 2000+ puzzles moderately), regardless of what my elo says. And If I want to get better I have to set the bar high. I need to challenge myself so that I can get better.

2000 puzzle rating is roughly equal to 1300-1400 level, not 1800. 1800s have 2700+ puzzle rating

I SIMPLY said 'SOLVING 2000+ rated puzzles', not that I was 2000 rated at puzzles, There's a BIG difference there.
I solve puzzles like these on a daily basis:
Tell me, how well can you solve these? (Probably pretty well right? I mean they are rated over 2000, you should probably get them without any hints.)
Even more so, I have had a good handful of people who are rated 1800-2400 that said "Wow, I didn't expect an 1100 to play that well...
Good game"

no your not, lmao. Couldn't I say I have a thinking level of 2500? It doesn't matter if you solbe puzzles moderately if you can't apply them in your own games. People underestimate lower-rated it happens. I will use this game to prove it.
1. Forgot plans on move 3
2. Does tactics but missed qxc6 (easy move to see)
get your head out of the clouds buddy, you are not 1800. I can share some more games that you played as proof.
tactics are not practical, what is more, important is working on your thought process, and calculations in the real game you won't know there's a tactic. ( You clearly missed qxc6). You can pull up one of my games, and laugh at me, but you don't see me increasing my rating 300 points and calling my thinking a 2500 do you?

Lol, you looked at a learning game, not a real game.
I'm currently working on my d4 openings, which of course if I'm learning I WILL make mistakes.
And yes, I did see Qxc6, but when I saw it it was too late.
And yes, I'm stubborn at times and cannot apply what I've learned to games, but I'm fine with that, for now at least...

FINALLY! THE ADVICE THAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!
I've always gotten "Do more tactical puzzles if you want to get better" for an answer every time I've asked how to get better.
And I'm so glad that I finally got a different answer!
What should I do to improve thought process?
What are some of the best exercises for calculations?
"What should I do to improve thought process?"
There is a famous answer to this, "Talk with the chess book", Like streamers like GOthamchess talk with their audience, you should be able to talk with your self about the board. You should read books about chess strategy.

This is also going to be practical there are some people who give like 10 things to do in the middlegame and stuff but I find memorizing is pain and this comes with experiences. What I would recommend to practice this, is maybe go search some random games by Titled players and around move 15, try to think of plans and stuff. There are things like minority, playing on the side where you are better but the truth is, it comes with playing and looking at games.
Open positions vs Closed positions
you know if it's open position by pawn tension for example, e4 d5. Pawns are attacking each other.
The closed position would be something like e4, e5. Pawns cannot capture each other.
In open positions, you need to scan the board and look for good moves and then calculate inside of them ( this is mostly calculations), and also after you opponent makes a move it weakerns something.
Closed positions, improve your pieces and stop your opponents ideas
anyone up for gaem?
