I think the best advice is to slow down. Do puzzles and play games, but take at least 1 minute per puzzle, and play 10 minute games. Chess is pattern recognition, so give your brain time to really learn and understand the pattern! Then you can get faster.

300 points of rating in one year is a high goal. I would say to learn one or two solid openings for both white and black. Learn mid and end game as well. I also recommend playing at least 5 daily games and 10-20 other games a week.
