It's pretty common for OAuth APIs to provide this. Lichess does, for example. It would be included in the scope, of course, so it's not like the user wouldn't be asked to agree to it.

Users agree to a lot of invasive things that they're asked to agree to that they have no idea that they have been asked to agree to, let alone that they have agreed to, nor that they would have agreed to if they had any real choice besides "then don't use our services".
Just because Lichess does this doesn't mean chess.com should. For that matter, just because Lichess does this doesn't mean Lichess should.
Is there currently any way to get the email of authenticated users?
