Daz, in move 20 you played Bg5. Is this correct, as the bishop was on-prix yet Stephen didn't take the bishop and instead moved Bg7!!! Am I missing something here!!! Any way well done, I thought you were winning after he sacrificed his rook, but what do I know!!!!
GM Stephen Gordon Simul
I did play the bishop to g5 Dave because if he had taken the bishop I would take on e5 with the queen giving check, and winning the rook. Plus with my rook on the f file ready to come into the action I think he did the right thing not take take it.
I did consider 7Bc4 but I decided against it in the end because I was inviting b5 giving black a tempo and I would have just had to retreat to e2 anyway, After b5 black also has a nice home for his light squared bishop on on b7 aiming down into my kingside which could have disrupted my attacking chances in the future. I had a similar situation against Alex O Connell and went for an exchange which didnt really work out too well.
I just want to post my game from last nights Simul with GM Stephen Gordon, this result represents my greatest acheivement in chess so far. I have not had chance to analyse the game yet but your feedback is appreciated.
