Good news/Bad news lol

I guess I have to start with the bad news so that it makes sense.

I just realized that my previous account (which I closed) had a rating of 900.

And this account has a rating of 400. *roblox oof* How is it possible for my rating to go down by 500 points XD

Well the good news is, I think I know why. This is kinda embarrassing tho lol

I may have used the engine going against bots too much. And I may have forgotten how to think for myself. Gosh I know that sounds weird but I think it's true. But the real good news is, now I just KNOW that I can improve. Knowing why my rating is really bad should help me fix it. So now all I need to do is play against a bot without the engine. Again and again until I feel confident enough to play real people. I hope thix fises my problem xD

Wait "thix fises" lol I think I'll keep it that way for some laughs wink.png

If you don't blun red going from 400 to 1000 is easy... Just work on that I guess

...or instead of trying to replicate to where you were at, you can try to push further by longer term chess improvement and practice. happy.png I recommend learning "chess opening principles" if you haven't already begun implementing them into your game. This works equally well against human players and bot opponents.

I understand if you want to play bots sometimes, but I do recommend playing other human opponents - even if just on chess.com; there should be no worries about playing 'good enough' or something like that because they'll be in the same position if they are rated within a few hundred points of you.

The reason I recommend playing people is because you'll notice human players think slightly differently than bots.

I also think that by playing bots you're really just kind of preparing to play the bot instead of trying to play good chess (Memorizing its openings, etc). Playing humans exposes you to a lot more differentiables (idk if this is the word im looking for) than playing bots does and will give you more experience.

True. I mean those really good chess players in the 1800s didn't play against bots lol

I mean I use the bots to memorize openings without risking my rating but I don't play full games with them you know

Avatar of WowThisIsWeird

Yeah. That makes sense.

Tactics. I also only use bots for openings.

Yeah, the reason I used to only play bots is for some reason I couldn't get the activation email for my account (it turns out I had permanently blocked chess.com emails, -even though I don't know how or why- and I had to contact support to fix it) Now I don't play bots that muych.
