Gothic chess. Fairy pieces design

I think it's like this to make it easier for new players.
Like the chancellor looks like a knight and rook merged together, and the archbishop looks like a knight and bishop merged together.

bye doing that, they make sure that it is easy to know how peices move

I didn't know about this. Sounds interesting . How would you do it?
In four player chess you can choose between three different styles for your pieces (go to 4PC then click settings then click Themes & Colors.). For regular variants click settings then click Themes & Colors. I'm not sure how different the fairy pieces look but that should change them a bit. I've never played fairy pieces in a two player game so I don't know how to change them there.

History of the fairy pieces: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/fairy-piece-suggestions
on page 2 will see @xiongyunuo chimed in to create the fairy pieces.

I'm happy to add any pieces I'm given. We got the sailboat, chariot and elephant (only 1 theme), which I've made available as 'alternative piece look' if you will, on a per game level. @BabYagun will know better if or when we get new professionally designed pieces.

I like the way that they currently look (although I'm not sure about the grasshopper, maybe it could have a springy-looking base?), but I have never used fairy pieces IRL, so I don't have an idea of what they're "supposed" to look like. If there is a standard, I would say that it would be a good idea to have a theme option for "function" or "classic" piece designs, as many people who go to variants do not have a foreknowledge of fairy pieces.

yep

I agree that it's easy to learn for beginners.
But this approach isn't aesthetic and correct, since the fairy pieces look unnatural (at least for some of us it may matter). For example, the camel should look like the head of a camel, the archbishop should look like the headdress of an archbishop, etc.
The pieces need to have a soul of their own, and I think that they'll be able to add new colors to these games.
Is it possible to add the original chess set for Gothic chess?
In general, I think that we need a more stylish design for the fairy pieces. The present versions aren't that bad, but I think that we need some changes.
