If anybody is looking at doing this and needs a bit of help with admin/set-up, I'm happy to help out...
Groovy Chess League
Haha... You know, groovy as in cool man... Oh, you mean the league. I don't know I just envisioned possibly live play with similar time constraints, opponents set up their matches between each other within a specified time period based on a schedule, and boom. It could be a daily format but that would take much longer. Maybe like a schedule and opponents play say twice in a week's period of time or maybe 3 times in a 10-day span... But the day that opponents meet kind of has to be determined by the players for scheduling but games completed within a timeframe... My thoughts... Groovy! (as in cool lol)
Maximum number of players per group is 12 i think. League A- first 12 in ladder, winner is THE CHAMP, last 3 are relegated to league B in next season.
League B- 13-24 from groovy ladder, first 3 goes in A next season, last 3 to league C
....and so on.....
When last game in every league is over we can start new season. It would probbably take few months for finish every game.
1 day per move please, 3 days is ok, but usually there is at least one who wait for last hour to make a move

So true!!
Would you want to use Ladder to start the leagues or current ratings? I like 1-day per move. How many matches would we start at once? We could probably do a few at once and try to wrap them up each week or two?
You'd be better using ratings for divisions because you'd exclude non-ladder players like myself.
1 day per move sounds good. The 'seasons' won't drag on that way. Also, it may be a good idea to have a minimum requirement of games before entering, otherwise you'll end up with a group of 12 and 4 signed up to the site, played 5 games and never bothered coming back.
You can put number of minimum games played before, i think i saw tournaments with minimum 100 games.
I am more for ladder ratings, first of because i will be in 1st league 😂, we will have well known opponents who wont quit after few matches. All players are very simmilar. No one will become champion easily. Sorry shadow.
Ratings are not very precise, i have cca 1200 +/- 50 but have opponents with 900 and they are giving me problems every match.
Okie dokie, no problem. As said when I first suggested it, I'm happy to help out with organising etc.
I would have thought you start with a few leagues sorted by rating initially, just to get it running... Then have a promotion system after everybody played two games per opponent. Leagues of ten, 18 games, three up three down, four stay... something like that.
It'd be grim at the lower leagues with timeouts etc and new entrants would need to scrap their way up from the bottom regardless of their entry level I guess, but otherwise would be a good set of games at the top and something to work towards..
Did I hear something about the possibility of a Groovy Chess League?
Groovy man...
