That cannot be the answer, because a ruler is not 1 foot long - even in America, where we measure in feet and inches.

that probably is the answer, in olden times a foot was measured by the length of the queen or king's foot, and they’re also a ruler, so I agree with ruler.

Yes. A ruler is not 1 foot long - and I am talking about a measuring stick. It is close, but not quite. On others, the ruler is close to 6 inches long. Rulers have varying lengths, but they are not exactly as long as the longest distance they measure. They are usually 1/4 in. longer.

@The_Werewolf_3125, most rulers are 12 inches long, at least the ones I use.
