Guess Who!

I got the idea from a forum I saw in another club. I'm thinking of a person, and y'all have to ask questions that can only be answered by yes or no.

Reward: 30 cheers to whoever guesses correctly

Note: It's almost 7:45 p.m. in my time as of writing this, and I will be busy the rest of the night, so I won't be able to respond until tomorrow morning. I will answer all the questions though.

Was he a famous scientist, author, or military figure who is remembered for a specific chess game or a contribution to chess theory?
