Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is about Harry fighting against the return of
Voldemort. The Ministry of Magic denies Voldemort’s comeback, which makes Harry feel
frustrated and lonely. Harry is denied from getting any information from his godfather,
Dumbledore, or his friends. He is attacked in a tunnel with Dudley by dementors. He is
forced to use the patronus charm which gets him expelled from Hogwarts because he used
magic underage. He is then escorted by Mad eye Moody and then is sent to number 12
Grimmauld place Where he meets Ron and Hermione. Then he goes to the ministry of
magic where he goes to a hearing and Dumbledore defends him and he is no longer
expelled from Hogwarts. At Hogwarts, Professor Umbridge takes over and creates strict,
unfair rules, even punishing Harry with a quill that cuts into his hand.
Harry and his friends form Dumbledore’s Army to secretly learn spells. My favorite part is
the battle at the Ministry of Magic, which is exciting but heartbreaking because Sirius Black,
Harry’s godfather, dies at the hands of his own cousin Bellatrix la strange. It is then
Dumbledore arrives and duels with Voldemort. Voldemort then attempts to take control of
Harry but with all the love inside him for his friends and his godfather, he is able to resist
Voldemort’s control and Dumbledore wins the duel, which is very heartwarming.
Voldemort then disappears and the ministry accepts Voldemort’s return.
The book is long, but it teaches lessons about friendship, bravery, and standing up for
what’s right. It’s a great read for anyone who loves magic and adventure!
