I think that for lower level players it is a great place to start. I really enjoyed going through the course. That was the first real jump in my rating. Very cool to see a little of the way that he looks at the board.

This book was published in 1966 when Bobby Fischer was 22 years old and just coming into the nationl lime light.  Perhaps you will be surprised to know it was not written by Bobby Fischer at all, but by two teachers using what was then a new and novel teaching format.  Ghost writing has a long and noble tradition :)  I bought my copy in 1972, finished all the exercises without error in about an hour, and loved that book.  Why did I love it?  Because of the cover, for me, the best part of the book;  This is still my favorite Bobby Fischer photo.

I am actually reading it now (my first chess book)

And I also think so about the picture! It was the first thing I thought when I saw the cover!

I read it before my first Scholastic State competition. It really helped me finish second in Illinois in my section! It has good puzzles.
