He who fights a cheater should see to it that he himself does not become a cheater!

Edit: White's King has cheated and made himself invisible but he won't remain invincible!

Black to play and Mate in 2.

Note: ONLY the White King is invisible, the remaining pieces are as illustrated in the diagram.

It means white to move and winwink.png. No limit of moves.

Looks like the white king was smart enough to run off the board.

In this situation, black king is in check. So the first white move must be taken to protect the king.

So we have one move left which must be a checkmate. So the white king must be in d3 or c3 so black can deliver the mate.

If WK is in d3 we have:

If WK is in c3 we also have:

So the answer is 1.Rb3+ Bxb3+ 2.Qxb3#

very nice. the invisible king has been spotted

What is this invisible king thing?  Is is that anywhere you put the white king with black to move it's mate in two at most?

Hosf

Note: You cannot put the King literally anywhere. This is because, if you haven't noticed, that the Black King is in check! How did White's Bishop check the Black King?? It couldn't have come from b3 or c2, so is this position impossible?? Or maybe not...

No duh I didn't think I needed to spell that out for you.  Gimme a break.

I assumed this is one of those special types of chess puzzles, so I decided the White King belonged on c3.  Only now while I was typing this comment did I see someone else with that diagram position.  I guess d3 is also possible, now that I've seen it.
