The best advice I can give you is to protect a peice instead of retreating it. You could also attack an important peice or put them in check

I suggest you look at videos on the Roy Lopez opening, it's a basic and easy tactic and works well on lower level players

i wonder too but i don't speak this notation language yet. also it's one step at each tilme so it highly depends on your oppenent it's moves 50/50
