make dumb and bad moves
Help me get out of 1100 ELO please

Sign up for Chessable and study - just playing won't necessarily help you improve. You have to practice good ideas.

best way to improve in your range is to actually use the time you are given in the time control (stop playing bullet with 10 minutes on the clock) and doing puzzles

I agree on puzzles, but not chess.com’s puzzles.
This might just be an opinion, but chess.com puzzles are TRASH. There are barely real game ideas. Lichess and other chess sites will be better for puzzles.

I also used to be stuck a round 1100 not too long ago. The way I came out was by just playing more and playing in irl tournaments. I also got coached which helped me with middle game and end game skills.

Hello. I am stuck at 1100 and I like playing but I only play for an hour every day. Does anyone have any long term tips for me? Anything is helpful.
Play through all of https://www.chessgames.com/player/gioachino_greco.html

I would agree with everyone else because doing chess puzzles, analyzing games, and trying to see mistakes you make in games so you don't do them again can really help you.

I got a book that has a bunch of puzzles. So I just use that. Thanks for the reminder.

I used to fluctuate between 1200-1400 with no lasting improvement in sight. The most important changes I made: 1. learning how to recognize common openings and defenses, and the appropriate responses in each (and when the opponent plays something weird & annoying like Bird's Opening or the English Opening, I maintain symmetry until I know it's safe to develop asymmetrically) 2. honoring principles FIRST (i.e. valuing developing of pieces ahead of pawn captures) 3. Ask yourself what your opponent's likely response could be to whatever you plan to do next.
