Hello WWC members,

I really need help in my chess games and i want to tell you that i lost 13 games and also my last 5 games! Can anybody help me or give me advice on how to win and what kind of players to challenge. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

When i say what kind of people to challenge i mean what rating.

Oker, personally I believe that I couldn't have said it better than polleke because he just said it all. Another tip that can be useful is to try to maintain around 5-10 games at once but not too many. And btw, Oker tell us if any of us have helped you, we'll notice it in your games!

Thanks guys, esp. Polleke, your tips are helpful! I'll try to play more games and play players with a wide range span! I'll also try to follow Polleke's opening rules and I'll tell you whether this forum helped me or not!

Also, I forgot to mention a very important things:

"You may learn much more from a game you lose than from a game you win. You will have to lose hundreds of games before becoming a good player"

(Jose Raul Capablanca, Cuba, 1888-1942, World Champion 1921-1927)

And I hope that Polleke, who I believe to be a great chess players, agrees with me on the basic transition; every good chess player has a losing streak at least once before coming out of "depression"!

Great thread.  Wonderful advise for any level.  As far as group activity goes,  participating in the vote chess games and reading the team's comments on why one move is superior to another can be very educational.  You may want to challenge some higher rated players within the group (and if they're willing),  play sort of an "open game", where you dialogue back and forth.  Best wishes.

Once again thanks guys!
