https://www.uschess.org/msa/MbrDtlTnmtHst.php?15218438 magnus carlsen opened with a rating of 3001 during the Sinquefield Cup so I think he is the highest rated person in USCF

IIRC, He's registered to FIDE in Norway, so he isn't a USCF Member

I doubt he's ever really been a member. His membership date shows expired before his first tournament. That was probably just a mechanism to set up a non-USCF player with a USCF ID to have their games rated. His only tournaments on the MSA site are dual FIDE/USCF rated events in the US. Not that his rating doesn't count - it does - but he probably doesn't show up on top player lists because he's not a member.

GMs and IMs don't have to have memberships to play US Chess events, just need to have the office set them up with an ID

USCF ratings are the gold standard. Chess.com are not real.
