How come a tournament gets u matched with a blocked player repeatedly?

It's actually random
I don't think so. In my last two tournaments, I had been matched with one player again and again. Can't be a mere coincidence for 7-8 matches per tournament.

There is no bias in swiss tournaments.
so can u explain this : I had been matched with one player again and again. Can't be a mere coincidence for 7-8 matches per tournament.

Yes it can be, actually.

Exactly. That's what I said. Just trying to find out why this is not unfair in the context I mentioned in main query ?

It is my understanding that blocking is ignored for tournaments. The reason for this should be obvious. You are still free to report poor behaviour that occurs in a tournament.

Yes. When you are paired with a player you generally have the same partner throughout the tournament (unless they drop out). Im pretty sure you are paired with someone pretty close to your rating and maybe thats why you got paired with someone you had blocked. To be honest so many bug players block so many other bug players around their rating it would be kind of difficult to have the block in place during the tournaments. Having said that it must be pretty annoying. Maybe if you entered the tournament with a partner it would be better. but that does require planning lol

It isn't random, the pairing software pairs u with an available, is unpaired, participant whoms rating is the closest to your owns.

Your partner in the beginning is your partner for the whole tournament I think
Not really, as i responded elsewhere, the software matches u with the (unpaired) player who's rating is nearest to your own.
I think, so not a 100 percent sure, if u both keep winning, u keep playing together, but if u and your partner lose then u will more often than not be paired with another player.
(Based on my own experience playing bughouse tournaments)

My experience is that you stay with your partner no matter what

Okay, I can't dispute your own experience.

if u guys lose 2 or 3 games in a row u get partnered with a new
I know this would be a standard algorithm for matching into swiss tournament. However, shouldn't the blocked player be given less priority to be matched as pair? one or two game's fine, but the whole tournament makes it annoying considering the fact we would have had to block the person for some valid reason.
What if I had blocked the person citing non-cooperation / stalling games. Now since the position (of both players) will remain constant throughout the tournament after being paired, as either both win or both lose. Why should I suffer just because we have won/lose similar number of games?
