Some people just find it more fun to play online and don't want to play OTB. Plus titled players could think it's not really profitable to reach another rank, e.g. CM is a trainer and for reaching FM he will have to give up his training career for some time and work mostly on his game, will it really be worth it?

I've played many titled players 1900 or 2000 here on chess.com including CM's, NM's, and IM's.
